وقال حسين الشعلان النائب في قائمة "العراقية" "تلقت القائمة دعوة لزيارة (...) تقطع الطريق على من يحاول الاصطياد بالماء العكر وتشويش افكار ايران وغيرها خصوصًا حول برنامجنا واعتبارهم وصولنا (الى الحكم) يشكل خطورة عليهم".
واكد الشعلان الفائز عن محافظة الديوانية ان "علاوي لن يكون ضمن الوفد الذي سيتوجه الى طهران". وشدد على ان "ايران جارة عزيزة ويهمنا بناء علاقات قوية ومتطورة معها (...) لكن لا يعني ذلك ان لايران او اي دولة اخرى الحق في التدخل بالشأن العراقي".
وحلت قائمة "العراقية" في الطليعة في الانتخابات التشريعية وحصلت على 91 مقعدًا في البرلمان مقابل 89 مقعدًا لائتلاف دولة القانون بزعامة رئيس الوزراء المنتهية ولايته نوري المالكي. وكان الرئيس المنتهية ولايته جلال طالباني ونائبه عادل عبد المهدي ووفد من ائتلاف المالكي وآخر من المجلس الاعلى الاسلامي والتيار الصدري قاموا بزيارة ايران اواخر الشهر الماضي.
وكان علاوي اتهم في 29 من اذار/مارس الماضي، ايران بالتدخل في عملية تشكيل حكومة جديدة والسعي الى منعه من ان يتولى رئاسة الوزراء. كما اخذ علاوي على ايران انها استضافت كل القوى السياسية باستثناء كتلته.

The 6 or 7 people those leaders will decide the future of IRAQ? I hope they put Iraq first for the future of their grand childrens, and the next generations, the whole world is watching them, if they failed, The Iraq, and the whole world will condemn them forever. , and histroy will not forgive them.... Now is the time for all the current members for the Iraqi parliment to show all of the Iraqis, if they are patriot, and , nationalis, or not, They should form the next government as soon as possible
