The burgeoning alliance between Iran’s regime and Russia exemplifies a new form of imperialism. This neo-colonialism, while masquerading as a liberator from Western hegemony, insidiously imposes a more sinister and destructive regime. Driven by a voracious desire for political allegiance, it seeks not merely compliance but a total realignment of regions to conform with its dangerous ideologies, thus posing a threat to erase the rich historical and cultural identities of nations.
Iran's strategic use of its proxies, including the Houthis in Yemen, Hezbollah in Lebanon, and Hamas in Gaza, has significantly escalated tensions within the MENA region, pushing it perilously close to the brink of widespread conflict. Through these proxies, Tehran exerts influence far beyond its borders, attempting to redraw the geopolitical map of the Arab world in its image. This expansionist agenda is marked by efforts to subjugate more Arab capitals under its theocratic diktat, as it ambitiously seeks to repaint the region in its austere colours.
